Pop-Up Art Days
Pop-Up Art Days (Ages 5-12): Full days from 9:00am–4:00pm (drop off begins at 8:30 am and pick up ends at 4:30 pm).
Pop-up Art Days are flexible programs designed to support families with engaging, creative experiences during periods of unexpected schedule changes. If circumstances change and the programs are no longer needed, all future registrations will be refunded and the programs will be cancelled.
With our unique Pop-Up Art Days offering, children get to dive into a variety of exciting projects that spark imagination and curiosity. Each day includes hands-on, choice-based activities where kids can experiment with different materials, explore new techniques, and create their own unique outcomes—no two projects will look the same! The registration fee includes all materials. Some materials used in the classroom could stain clothing. Students should wear old clothes or bring an apron or paint shirt. Bring proper outdoor clothing as we may be going on short walks outdoors, weather permitting.

About our instructors:
About Julie: While our projects and spaces make this program special, our arts instructor Julie Downey-Hogland, will ensure that each child has a positive experience. Equipped with a post-secondary education in both social work and fine art, she is passionate about inspiring children to achieve their full potential and to have fun while doing it! Julie has extensive experience working with children and youth of all ages and abilities. She has been creating a warm and inclusive learning space as an arts instructor at the Esplanade since June 2018 and we are very lucky to have her!
About Ruth: For the past four years, Ruth Adams has inspired students in local schools through our "Artist in the Classroom" program. Now, she brings her passion to the Esplanade. With a Bachelor’s degree in Art and over 20 years of experience in teaching and creating ceramics and paintings, Ruth is dedicated to fostering a fun and relaxed environment where students can explore their creativity. She encourages them to dive in, get messy, and fully enjoy the artistic process!
