Join members of the Esplanade's team for a behind-the-scenes exploration. Discover how we preserve and care for the art, archival material and artefacts that tell the stories of our region.
Beginning in the Lobby, the tour will proceed through the Reading Room and into our environmentally controlled storage area. As we move through the Collections, you will learn about the methods and techniques used to protect the cultural treasures in our care—and how we ensure they remain accessible to the public.
With a special focus per tour, our team will highlight some of their favourite pieces and share insights into their significance and preservation. You'll have the rare opportunity to explore our 10,000-square-foot on-site storage facility and engage in meaningful conversation along the way. Questions and discussion are welcome throughout the tour.
