About the Musicians
From Medicine Hat, Alberta, Kaylyn Légaré began her musical journey at 4 and started learning the violin at 5. She represented her city at the Provincial Music Festival for six years and won the Rose Bowl at the Medicine Hat Rotary Music Festival three times.

Kaylyn then completed her Bachelor's degree in Classical Violin Performance at McGill University. In Montreal, she explored various music styles, including pop, fiddle, and jazz, and taught herself the viola. She joined an all-female bluegrass and folk quartet under Matt Haimovitz’s mentorship, performing at the Montreal Segal Centre concert series in 2013 and 2014 and the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2014.

In late 2022, Kaylyn returned to Medicine Hat, teaching violin and performing in country bands.

Kaylyn has been deeply involved in various artistic endeavors, including voice, theatre, speech, rock bands, and orchestras. Her passion for music is evident in her diverse experiences and achievements, believing in the inclusive, fun nature of music and its power to be shared with others.
