Self-screening prior to the show: You may be reminded before the show to self-screen and check for symptoms. “Know-Before-You-Go” symptom checks are a great way to keep everyone safe.
Physical Distancing remains a vital part of keeping safe. Floor markings will identify 2m separation zones. Barriers such as stanchions may be used as well.
Limitations on Capacities: The City of Medicine Hat will adhere to Alberta Health Service guidelines and instructions from the City’s Health and Safety experts. The Esplanade will host a variety of activities while ensuring attendees, including artists, staff and patrons, remain within the current capacity limits set forth by the Chief Medical Officer of Health. Public access will be restricted to those attending the event.
Distanced Seating: To remain physically distanced from other patrons we have created distanced seating with assigned seats so you can remain with your cohort group.
Facial Coverings / Masks: Alberta Health Services recommended all patrons wear masks when 2m distancing could not be maintained. All event staff will wear a facial covering when in a publicly accessible area, and elsewhere when 2m distancing cannot be maintained.
Cleaning and custodial services have been enhanced for all high touch points in the venue and the theatre, stage and backstage areas will be disinfected between uses. Electrostatic sprayers will be utilized as well for high traffic and soft surfaces that require cleaning.
HVAC The Theatre features a modern ventilation system where the air is drawn from a plenum beneath the floor and cycled out through the ceiling. The air in the audience chamber is completely exchanged approximately every 20 minutes.
Contact tracing: At any time, you may be asked to provide information about patrons attending events for Alberta Health Services contact tracing purposes.
Refunds: We do not want your financial commitment to influence your decision to not attend an event, therefore if you are feeling unwell or presenting any of the symptoms outlined by AHS we encourage you to not attend and receive a credit to a future performance. Remember we are all in this together.
Event breaks: These events will run approximately 75 minutes and will not have an intermission.
Stay in touch: Keep up with what’s going on at the Esplanade on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Our team is here for you! If you have any questions or concerns at any time please contact us by email at email@example.com or call 403.502.8777.

SUPPORTING ACT MATT FOSTER
In yet another case of professional drummer turned comedian, Matt Foster has thrown down his sticks to take up the call of the microphone, giving ‘drummer jokes’ a whole new meaning. With over fifteen years of performance experience, and performing for thousands of people every night on cruise ships, he is at home nowhere if not on stage. In a relatively short time Matt has established himself as a seriously funny comedian, performing on stages all around western Canada. A regular crowd favourite, his hilarious observations, clever writing, and anecdotes embarrassing enough to make a stone squirm are sure to have you rolling in the aisles.
HEADLINER CHARLES HAYCOCK
Charles Haycock is a unique comedian in many ways. Whereas most good comics command an audience's attention by being larger than life, Charles drops all the pretense and offers up a quirky playful style that makes the crowd WANT to listen. His humour is subtle, yet uproariously funny. Charles branches off in unexpected directions, and is gifted enough that the odd jokes that MISS are often as funny as the ones that hit. He embodies the old saying that "a good comedian says funny things, but a great comedian says things funny", which is why he has been turning heads since taking to the stage in 2012. Charles has appeared on TV tapings for the 2018 Winnipeg Comedy Festival and the 2017 Halifax Comedy Festival. He was featured at the 2017 Sudbury Comedy Festival, 2016 Kamloops Komedy Festival, Nextfest 2015 and the 2015 Global Visions Film Festival.
