Winter Art Box
ICE CARVING
January 19th & February 2nd
Art couldn’t get any cooler with this latest Art Box experience!
This winter get inspired with local chainsaw artist Marina Cole as she demonstrates ice carving!
Following this demonstration Marina will give you some pointers on hand tool techniques before you try chipping and carving your own small block of ice.
Get out of the box and get inspired with unconventional and experimental art activities. This experience is about the journey, not the destination, so get bright, get bold, get messy and have some fun!
Please note that Art Box activities change seasonally.
One ticket equals one table and all the supplies you will need for up to a maximum of five people.
Collaborate together on your frozen masterpiece or go your own way, but don't forget to specify how many ice blocks you will need at check-out so we are sure to have enough supplies for you. Blocks of ice are approximately 8.5 lbs and measure: 11’’ length x 7.5”width x 3” height
We offer a Family Art Box and an Adult Art Box, be sure to book the right experience for your group. Family Art Box is geared toward little ones and their adult companion, the winter project is recommended for ages 7+, under adult supervision.
Also known as Chainsaw Spirit, Marina Cole is a beloved local artist. Cole breathes new life into old trees through her imaginative carvings. She has participated in numerous international carving competitions across Canada, the United States, and Australia, recently placing first in the Kootenai Country Montana International Chainsaw Carving Championship earlier in September. Her chainsaw carvings can be seen throughout Medicine Hat, parts of Alberta and British Columbia, and the Chainsaw Spirit Gallery in Irvine.
While Marina Cole is well known for her wood sculptures, she is no stranger to ice. She is a part of an ice carving team that will be competing in Alaska this winter.
